Yellowjackets and scrap wood!

Once again, it has been forever since I have been on here.... But... I have been busy :). So my title is descriptive of my day. The yellowjacket is a nasty little critter. I have not been stung for years, and today I got stung in Lowes of all places! Samuel and I were in there to get some wood to make something for some friends of ours, I and standing next to him looking at some tools and lo and behold, I get stung.. Not a fun experience. My arm feels like it is going to burn off and the Beneydral is making me sleepy... such is life.. The other part of my title is also concerning something about my day. Samuel is working at school now, and they had some cabinets that they were going to throw away. He was able to salvage some wood from them, cut it, glue it together, and they run it through a planer. He now has an absolutely beautiful piece of wood to make a trivet out of. I saw it after it was glued, and it looked nothing like what it does now. As he and I were out and about today, I started to see an analogy. I asked him, if when he saw the scrap pieces of wood, if he envisioned what I was holding in my hands. He said that yes, he basically had. I then started to see it is just like God, when He sees some old scrap that nobody else wants. To them it is only fit for the trash heap, but God takes them, cuts their life apart, scraps off the veneer of the world, brings them down to the raw wood, then painstakingly glues their life back together, takes it to his planer and starts to work, making them into a piece of wood that is able to be used. Then after that is completed, just like Sam is going to let me draw a pattern to make something beautiful on this wood, God starts to carve His pattern, making something beautiful out of the wood. Sam said that after he is finished, he will probably rub some oil on it to protect it and be able to use it. Just like God will rub the Holy anointing oil of the Holy Spirit upon us, and then send us out into service! Wow, such a thought from some old pieces of wood! Well, I hope you have a lovely day! I'll try to post a picture of the finished trivet :)
