Scars in the Road.

Tonight as I rode over the roads on my way home from camp, we passed over some white scars in the road. To an ordinary traveler, they may go unnoticed, but to me they were the signs left from a tragedy that happened only yesterday. A young boy was headed home from youth camp and was involved in a fatal accident. He was driving, went off the road and over-corrected sending him into the path of an oncoming truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Many of his friends and family were only a few miles behind him and came upon the accident. He was a High School student at the school that I teach at, a patron where I worked at, and a good friend of some of my friends. I remember the students that I taught last year always running up to give Jordan a hug, and now he is gone. His parents have lost a son, his sister a brother, and a multitude of people have lost a beloved friend. Pray for his family, pray for friends, and pray for the entire group of young people that had just said bye to him as they parted ways to go home from camp, not knowing that it was last time they would ever see him again. It is a hard burden to bear. But for those of you who are praying, pray that this will wake people up. Help them to realize afresh and anew that life is so fragile, and so valuable. Let us also pray that when we ourselves leave this earth, our life, like Jordan's life, will be remembered by many people, for more than simply scars in the road.

Beach Day!

Sam and I in the Lantern Room of the Lighthouse!

Sam in the stairwell... it was a little tight!

In a lighthouse!!!!

Here it is! Indiana's Claim to Lighthouse Fame!

When it's just the two of you, taking pictures can be a challenge...

The pier and the pier light!

Sam and I at the Beach!
What fun! Sam and I got to take a date yesterday! We went all the way to Michigan City, Indiana. I have a love of lighthouses, and I really wanted to see the only lighthouse in the state of Indiana! I finally got to see it! We drove... and drove... and drove... took a detour to a cemetery, (I know we are a little strange lol), and drove and drove some more. When we got there we went to the beach and got to see the pier light. We had lunch then toured the lighthouse itself. After another side trip to Mt. Baldy, this huge sand dune, we headed back to the beach and I waded (just a little, the water was freezing) and we watched a wind surfer. Then it was back in the car and headed home again! We got back around 9 something at night. It was a very special date!!!

Summer has begun!

Shew.... Kindergarten Graduation is over.... HS and College Graduation is over.... Campmeeting is over.... now, I have said Goodbye to some of my best friends who are leaving for the summer. Summer for me this year is sounding rather boring, yet it is filling up at the same time. Thank the Lord, I was given more hours at work, but at the same time, it is restricting my ability to have fun :) Oh the joys of adulthood. I have a list that I want to accomplish here at the house, we shall see :) and I have to prepare for my classes next semester. Even tho I have taught both of my college classes before, I am making drastic changes to one, and a few changes to another. It will be fun! I hopefully will get to see one of my best friends from college when she is up from Texas visiting her family this summer as well! Maybe my sister will come visit... maybe I'll have a fun summer after all :) Oh... and I get to plan a yard sale too, so I need to go through stuff quickly! Well, so much for my rambling... I'll hopefully have some pictures to post soon. Have a wonderful start to summer!!!

Goodness... It's been awhile since I've posted. It's been a crazy few months. We had a wonderful Easter program with some wonderful actors. Then it was off to IHC. While my family was at IHC on Wednesday, we received a phone call that one of my aunts had passed away. It was a bit of a shock to our family, and started us on a busy trail. Consequently our days have been very stressed and busy since. But now that we are back to 'normal' we are starting to finish up our school year. The Spring picnic was this week, and we also have our end of the school year recital on Thursday night. We are starting to prepare for kindergarten graduation in the upcoming weeks. Our School year is almost over. I'm still waiting to discover exactly what I am going to be doing next year. YAY

It's Been Awhile :)

Well, It's been awhile since I've posted last. School winter revival is over.... Valentines Day is over... now the next thing is.... SPRING BREAK!!! Not really, we have Spirit week, next week. I'll try to post some pictures. We have President's day... Hat day... Bible Character day.. Pair Day... and Western Day. It should be fun. I have some of my own outfits figured out, but the rest... I'm still working on! Any suggestions for Pair day? It's where two different people dress up like a pair of something.... bacon and eggs... salt and pepper... hmm. I need some more ideas.. If you have any please post! After Spirit Week, then the next big thing is Spring Break. This is one of the first years for a loong time.. that's I'm not going on choir tour. It's going to be a little strange. I'm used to traveling all week, but this time I'll be home. The wonderful thing is that my best friend Rachel is going to be back in the states during that time, so hopefully I'll be able to spend time with her. Wow.... after that is the Easter Program, which I get to do the drama for :) and then IHC, then we are headed into the home stretch and the end of the year! YAY! Anyway. Have a wonderful time!!! Talk to you later, and hopefully I'll have pictures to post from next week!

Christmas Day and a brand new baby!

Merry Christmas! Last post for this year!
One of my best friends had her baby on December 22nd. I got to hold him soon after he was born and also got to hold him on Christmas day! He's the most precious thing ever! I also got to talk to my best sister friend Rachel who is currently in Lesotho, Africa on Skype for close to an hour. It was a nice Christmas gift. I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas! I'll talk you again next year :)
Baby Nathan on Christmas Day cuddled in the blanket I made him!

Baby Nathan three hours old. What a privilege to get to hold him! Congratulations Anna and Nathaniel!
