It's Close to Christmas!

Well..... It's close to Christmas and all of my shopping is not yet complete! Let me tell you, it has been a wacky couple of days. Take just today for example, our car is in the shop... again... water pump this time... and so Sam has to take Mom and I to work. I had to work at 12, and Mom at 1. So Sam takes me, and then he shows up, with my phone that I had forgotten, around 12:45 and informs me that my Aunt is on the way to the Hospital via and EMTS, and that Mom is catching a ride with the neighbor to go with her. My poor family! My Aunt is ok, she passed out and needed fluids, and Mom ended up getting to work around 4, but the car is still in the shop and will be till tomorrow! We are just a disaster... and I still have shopping to do! Oh well! Maybe I'll have some pictures to post next time I post! I'll talk to you all later, and if I'm not back on before Christmas! Have a wonderful Merry Christmas!

Here is a picture of how I looked the fateful night that I mentioned in my last post. Hopefully the next time I blog, I'll have a much better story to tell. I highly doubt I'll be on here for awhile.... probably not till after the program! It's tomorrow night!!! AHHH..... then on Friday night as well. On Friday night, Sam's family is coming in, and they are bringing a gal with them from Sam's home church who is going to be staying with me. What fun!! We will be cramming 13 or so people into my home for Sunday lunch! It will be so much fun!! I can't wait. I love his parents! and I love hosting get-to-gethers, so it'll be a blast!!!!

Christmas Program!!

Soo... we took the UBC drama on the road on Sunday night. First of all... how many of you have ever acted in a drama on a big stage, then suddenly had to change everything that you've been doing and format it for a church platform? It's a little tough, add to that the fact that one of the main characters is sick... Ahhh!!! It was quite interesting. Because I cowrote the drama, and I am the director, I was the only one who knew the drama well enough to step into her part. Thankfully, I did get to practice with them on Thursday, but.... There were some interesting problems. We had not practiced with mikes, in fact we never got to practice with mikes. So we had to remember when to turn them off... That didn't always happen :) Then I had to trade mikes with one of the cast members, so because I was so concentrating on trading mikes, I totally forgot that I needed to be in the next scene, therefore, I was up on stage, no mike.... no coat.... no purse.... and went 'outside' after screaming my line :) Then, a few scenes later, when I had to get the mike back, I was concentrating on that, and on screaming my line again.... that I lost my shoe running up the platform stairs. After all the laughter, I convinced Willy to get my shoe, put it on and sat down ready for the final scene. Then.... the narrator was so thrown off kilter by my little mishap, that it messed him up, and he paused too long, so... my main character, burst in in the middle of the narration and said.... "Let's sing some Christmas Carols".... the narrator walked offstage, and all we sang was... "And Heaven and Heaven and Nature Sing." This made the congregation laugh, because while that was in the script, it didn't exactly fit what he said... we are supposed to sing another one, and while we started that one, I knew that the person who is supposed to come in at the ending had to run all the way around the side of the church... and I was praying the whole time I was singing that he would make it... He did, but.... when Willy went running across the stage and hugged him.... a few of the ribbons attached to his uniform fell off... and his mike fell off.... and over the sound system you hear this little voice say "Whoopsie". The crowd lost it. It was supposed to be this sentimental moment, and everybody is dying laughing. Oh well... such is drama!!!

Sam playing with his cousin's little boy Seth. Aren't they cute?

Here's me and the puppy on our journey south!

Here's David, Sam's brother, playing with his puppy!

So, I'm back in the grind from a wonderful too short Thanksgiving break! Why is it that the breaks always seem to go faster than the actual school time? Anyway, on this trip, like I mentioned in my last post, we took a puppy down with us. The trip down wasn't bad, but once we got there all she wanted to do was whimper all night long. Such fun! On Friday we only went to a few stores and it was way later in the day, so no really big deals. Then it was on to Grandma and Grandpa's to be with family. Oh, yeah that day also included a late night run to Walmart then on to Dominos. We took the hot pizza home and had a midnight snack :) On Saturday we were able to go to several flea markets and I got a set of dishes to match the everyday set that I had at home, and then I was able to get quite a bit of glassware to match the set I'm currently collecting! Then it was back to Grandma's and Grandpa's supper. All in all it was a fulfilling day. We headed to church on Sunday, then slept some and then prepared for our journey home! We made it home safely, Thank the Lord, because last night Sam's car broke down. Bless his heart. It seems like he has so much against him. Oh well! Anyway, that is a quick rundown of my Thanksgiving break. How was yours?

Friday, November 26, 2010

Well, I'm at Sam's Grandparents house. We arrived late last night at his parents. It was a much more interesting trip because we had a six week old puppy with us. Such fun! I'll try to post some pictures later...... Anyway Happy Thanksgiving a day later you all!!!

So... we are back from choir tour! Probably the only real news that I have to say is that I fell down the stairs on Friday night, so I was limping around the rest of tour! We went to a mall on Friday, and then we went to Bass Pro on Saturday! We went to three states during this weekend. - Illinois on Friday, Indiana on Saturday, Louisville Ky, on Sunday morning, and then to Indiana again on Sunday night. We got to spend some time on the banks of the Ohio river. We got to pick up shells and take pictures by the river. Such fun!
